Subject: Any subject, except Medicine. The subject area should be relevant to the social, scientific and economic development of India.

Level: Postgraduates.

Duration: Maximum of two years beginning October.

Eligibility: Candidates who are, or will shortly be graduates, who gain admission to read for a postgraduate course at Oxford and who would be unable to attend, without financial assistance, to take up the place. Candidates who propose to read for a post-graduate study should hold a first class Master's degree.

Value: Full university and college fees and a maintenance grant for living expenses, but will not provide for the costs of travel between India and the UK.

Method of application: Candidates who intend to read for a postgraduate degree should apply separately for admission through the Graduate Admissions Office. Scholarship Application forms are available from the address mentioned.

For Scholarship Application: Candidates who have first obtained admission to their course of study at the University can complete scholarship application forms to reach the International Office by April 1.

Duration : One year.

Value: Tuition Fees, Living expenses, allowance of books and airfares.

v.Candidates must return home as soon as their award ends
vi.Candidates must not have undertaken a course of study in the last two years

Method of application: Applications should be made directly to the University. Scholarship application forms are normally available in December from local British Embassies in the targeted countries.

Eligibility: Applicants must hold, or expect to obtain, an honours degree (normally a first or a good upper second) of a recognized university, or an equivalent qualification. Applicants must have been accepted for a Master's/PhD research programme in the above mentioned areas, and should therefore first send in their application to the department in which they propose to work.

Value: Scholarships covering tuitions fees to a maximum of GBP 2,200 per annum; bursaries of up to GBP 1,000. These awards may be used to supplement financial support obtained from other sources.

Eligibility: Applicants must hold, or expect to obtain, an honours degree (normally a first or a good upper second) of a recognized university, or an equivalent qualification. They must also have been offered a place on a higher degree programme in one of the University's Schools. Application ought therefore be made in the first instance to the department in which the candidate proposes to study. Preference will be given to those wishing to read for a higher degree by research, though entrants to taught Master's programmes are not excluded.

Value: 'Fees only' scholarships covering tuition fees at the home/EU rate.
