The Shastri Visiting Scholar Program is a joint arrangement between SICI and India's University Grants Commission (UGC) allowing for subsidized exchanges for scholars.

Value: The program provides limited travel and living subsidies to Indian scholars visiting Canada.
Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships

Application must be made through your local Rotary Club and must be endorsed by the club and the district in which the club is located.

These scholarships (includes Academic Year/Multi-Year/Cultural Ambassadorial Scholarships) aim to further international understanding and friendly relations among people of different countries. During the time abroad, Rotary scholars are expected to be ambassadors of goodwill through presentations to Rotary clubs and districts, school and civic organizations. Upon return home, they are expected to discuss and share their experiences with Rotarians and others.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must be nationals of a country where Rotary Clubs are located and must have completed at least two years of university level coursework before the scholarship begins. Criteria vary from program to program. Local Rotary Clubs or the Rotary Foundation can be contacted for details.

Value: Ranges from $11,000–$23,000 US. The dollar amount represents the maximum possible award, not the value of the scholarship.

Non-renewable. No part of the scholarship is to be used to defray expenses for spouse and children.

Deadlines vary between March and July.

Candidates must apply over a year in advance. The availability and kinds of Rotary Foundation Scholarships are determined by each Rotary district and vary from year to year. Before applying for a Rotary Foundation Scholarship, applicants must contact their local Rotary Club to inquire if and what kind of scholarships are available and to determine local application deadlines.
